Hi Mark,Yes this would be me,as long as it has Reginald Pedder as the link name,it'll be mine.Sorry,I thought it would be under Pedder and not Moore.
Good Luck.
Chris

Hi Mark,Called in to local library last week checked pr's for Toddington and Marston. As we said,Joseph and Mary had son,William, born Marston 1797.
I also found:John Evins 1799,Toddington,son of Joseph and Mary.Samuel,as we already know.
Ann,March 25th 1804.
Joseph,19th May,1805
Thomas,Aug 30th 1807
Benjamin,22nd April 1810.

Mary Evans died Sept 1822,Toddington.
Joseph Evans died April 1828,Toddington

There is no reference to a Joseph and Mary Evans in Toddington marriage or otherwise pre 1799,so it's a pretty sure bet they are the ones from Marston.Any luck with the genes site?

Chris

Hi

Just a couple of things, i read in a reply that Joseph had a grandson named Trevor who ran a butchers shop in Ampthill.....would this be the same Trevor who ran a butchers shop in Toddington with his brother Tim Evans??..i can remember Evans butchers shop when i was a kid in the 70's....Also..my great grandmother Ann Hucklesby married a George Evans in Toddington in December 1901..i think they had three sons....

 Charles Evans born in 1901
 Ernest Evans born in 1903
Mark Evans born on the 19th December 1907.

I've been doing a lot of research on my great uncle Mark Evans.....i believe my grt grandmother died around the same time as Marks birth, possibly even in childbirth!!......he emigrated to Australia in 1922.

I thought i'd chuck this in the mix as you might find it interesting.

 Regards

Hello China,
yes,Tim and Trevor Evans were my 2nd cousins. They had a shop in Toddington, and also one in Ampthill.Do you also remember Reg their father?
The family originally came from Marston Moretaine,Reg's father  Joseph and family moved to Bedford late 1800s,where they had a butchers shop.
The family moved into Ampthill about 1905,then Joseph went on to buy Clayhill farm at Westoning.
I'm not sure about your connection with the family,I will look into that.I have recently been working on some research for another Rootschat member whose Evans family also lived in Toddington, and I am pretty certain they are connected.
Many thanks for your post.
Chris

Good morning Chris......thanks for replying to my post, there is just one other thing that i forgot to mention...on the 1901 census, it shows that the George Evans who my Grt Gran married was a  ' Butchers Stockman '!!!!...so i don't know if this is significant in any way and may connect him to your family......
