I have Joseph Evans married to Caroline Ellis in my family tree.

I have him down as my 1st cousin 4x removed.

Are we all related!!!

Hello Mark--i only enter the tree as a 1st cousin twice removed of the William Copperwheat that Jane Evans married, so no blood relation to the Evans i'm afraid. Copperwheat is one of my main lines.

I would be blood related to the children of William & Jane, e'g 2nd cousin once removed and so on poli

p.s i am actually related to an Evans family through my maternal line but  they are Evans from North Wales. Millions of Evans in Wales and i have taken a break from researching my Welsh ancestors and now i find the name of Evans in my English lot

Hi Mark,Most certainly are related.Good to find another Evans on site.I will try and get to local library at some stage and check PR's re Joseph and Mary at Toddington.Pretty sure they are the ones from  Marston though.

Chris and Mark---i feel quite disappointed

Ever since i joined Rootschat some years ago i wondered if i would 'meet' a relative--and now i'm clinging on to the very outskirts by virtue of my ancestor marrying into your own family

I think it is great that we have "found" each other and even though you Polidor feel that you are only clinging it all becomes blood down the line following a marriage so consider yourself attached.

I have still not worked out exactly who we all are in the tree and will probably need to sit down to take it all in unless anyone has a clear way of working it out or explaining it.

I have now visited Toddington a couple of times and love the area - my branch of family moved to Reading in late 1890's and set up a successful bakers (no longer running now though). Although my nan and granddad kept visiting the area in the 1970's/ early 1980's but do not know why or who they visited.

Hope we can keep in touch and firm up on who is who etc

Hi Mark and Polidor,
Of course you are part of the family Polidor,good to be in touch with you.There are still a lot of Copperwheats in the local area.I personally know some of them.
Mark,I have a tree on Genes Reunited which shows my Evans ancestry.You will find me there under Christine Pedder.If I can get all your details onto the tree it will work out how we are related.
I still live in Bedfordshire (4 miles from Toddington and about 8 from Marston Moretaine,so I know the local area very well) It also gives me the luxury of popping into my local library where they have all the local PR's etc.I, also have a cousin who works at Bedford CRO who is very helpful to me in my research.
As I said previously I will call into the library one day soon after work and see what I can suss out.
