Sorry, nothing on George Gray except his baptism in Tanfield 24 April 1785 and that he was born Whitely Head.  I have stacks of parish record transcripts as well as some microfilm parish records.  I don't mind doing lookups if I have the material at hand and have enough information.

A little bit of a Nebby nose?  I have never been to Cleveland except the one in Ohio, USA.  I have been to Co. Durham enough to think that seeing Penshaw Monument from the airplane or on the ground as gannin' hyem though.

Hello Janis, thanks for your reply. you do'nt find info out without being nebby, do you ?  so you have nothing on my Nelson's, is that right. If I get to a brick wall, can I ask you to help, if poss. Take care of yourself and I shall keep being nebby in other places. After all it will be information  for my sons and grandchildren. You never said if your tree was on the web, did you see mine.

      best regards peter.

Sorry the earliest I have for Darlington is 1798.  I haven't had much time to look at much--getting ready for a family holiday to someplace warm.....  my tree is on ancestry look for Sylvester Gray.
