I've gained a star, and I don't know how!

I've only been using these boards for a few days and yet I've already gone from one star to two...wow, such progress! However, I have no idea what the stars indicate and why I have any at all. And why am I "Rootschatextra"? What's the difference between me and "Rootschatmember"? I assume "veterans" are founder-members, but where do "seniors" fit in the hierarchy? Am I posting this query on the right board?

Hi shumagh

The number of stars you get is directly related to the number of posts you make (fortunately, for me at least, it bears no relation to the quality of posts made :)).
Carry on posting and you'll soon join the rarified elite!  I like to think of it like working at macDonalds, but without any of the staff benefits like free lunches and glitzy uniforms!

By the way, shumagh, posts on the Lighter side don't count in your score, or I guess I would by now be a Rootschat OAP and be ready top be put out to grass! :)

I think the hierarchy goes veteran, aristocrat, king with a horse, doyen and then time lord, where you get an ex BT red telephone box to play with.
