The Jamphrey Surname
« on: Sunday 29 August 10 09:11 BST (UK) »
I have come acrossa Eliza Jamphrey in my family Tree late 1800's who married a Samuel Cully from Tamnahmore, Co Armagh. I can see the name cropping up quite regularly in Scotland. Anyone knowe of the families existence in Co Armagh? ???

The Eliza to Samuel Cully is my relation. I have found that one but haven't come across the other 3 well I have but I haven't seen the spouse detail - not listed on LDS Pilot site that I can see? They may be related as they are same era. Is the info from te Birts / Deaths Register. Or do you know if any share the same father James?
Many thanks for this info

You are probably searching the wrong part of LDS Pilot site-
William Jamphrey son of Francis
David Jamphrey son of David
Eliza Jamphrey daughter of James

Ah thank you - I see them now but no marriage detail as shown by kingerswell. Maybe that info was from a different source. Thanks again

If you go the the link I posted (Irish Marriages on LDS Pilot site) you will see more details but since you wanted to know if any of the father's were called James I didn't post the other details such date, etc.

Don't know if this is any use for your search - but a few days ago - I just happened to notice a grave in Poyntzpass Presbyterian Church however, the spelling is slightly different - 'Jemphrey'.

Memorial was to a James Jemphrey (died 1973) and his wife Winnie (died 1955)
This had been erected by their son Ted

Hi,
The graves you mentioned are my grandparents and Ted is my father. My family tree goes back to David Jamphrey and Elizabeth Mc Cloghan but your links have confused me again. I thought David's father was James but the link here says David and then there are James and Francis. Can someone help me work it out?! Are we related m9lvy?
