(his wife Ellen aged 60 b. Newton )

In 1891 I find Ellen aged 70 a widow living at 46 Ellesmere Street, Pennington, Leigh

Your John is much more likely to be one of the Westleigh registrations than the Tyldesley ones.

thanks for posting - I suspect he must be if he was living in Pennington at the time - had hoped to find details on lan-opc of a burial but nothing as yet!
