I wonder if someone could look up the details of a marriage for me please ?

I don't know the date - but it appears in the index for -
Quebec Vital and Church Records...

Mabel Martin and Walter Jarka.  (Probably Montreal)......

Thank you
Kathy

Anglican Saint Clement (Verdun)
Marriage on March 15, 1927 between
Walter Frank Jarka of Verdun, bachelor, s/o Frank Jarka and Ann (name unknown) to
Mabel Martin of Verdun, spinster, d/o Charles Martin (this crossed out and it looks like not known father added) and Jane Martin his wife (his wife has been crossed out).  Wit: Jane and Charles Dunn

At the 1928 baptism of their son the witnesses are again Jane and Charles Dunn and Walter's address is 483 Sixth Ave. Verdun.

Thank you.....did you note the son's name - Was it Frank?

The marriage details are exactly right.  I didn't know the date or where it took place.  But the witnesses are Jane (nee Martin) and her husband, Mabel's step-father, Charles Dunn.  They married in Canada.....

I don't have the date of that either - anbd would appreciate it if you could have a look.

Mabel was born in England - illegitimate - but Jane her mother married (in England) shortly afterwards to.....I don't know what happened to this marriage as Jane went off to Canada with her little girl and reverted to the Martin surname - I expect she claimed to be a spinster on her marriage to Charles Dunn !  I haven't yet found a death for her first husband !

The records of Saint Clements church only go up to 1940.  If the couple remained in the same location and attended the same church the records of their deaths/burials aren't available.

I looked for a marriage for Jane Martin and Charles Dunn but didn't find anything.  When was Jane born?

If you look at the Montreal directories Walter is listed in 1947 and  not in 1948.  In 1948 at the same address of 869 Osbourne Ave. (V) Mrs. M. Jarka, widow is listed.  His son and perhaps daughter are also listed at the same address.  It would appear that the internet reference you found in your other enquiry about Walter's death is correct and he did die in Montreal in 1947.
