1841 and 1861 census look up please Elizabeth Findlay
« on: Sunday 05 September 10 09:06 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Elizabeth Findlay in the 1841 census and 1861 census to see if I can work out who her parents are.

She is living with her grandmother Elspet Williamson in 1851 aged 11 years born in Urquhart, Morayshire.  She is not with her grandmother in 1861.

This thread is very much a long shot as the age may be wrong and she may not have been around on census day in 1841 and in 1861 she may be married or working away from home but perhaps someone might be able to locate her.

Thanks.

Betty

Hi Debs

Thanks for that.

That would fit with her being grand daughter of Elspet Williamson nee Sandison.  I wonder if this is another skeleton in the cupboard or have I just not picked up on Ann marrying a Findlay.

Now that you have found this information I need to do a bit more research.

Thanks again.

Betty

Brilliant, isn't this family research great.

I need to build a bigger cupboard!
