Marriage lookups please

I need several marriages clarified for me if at all possible please:
Abraham Wood married Mary A. ? in 1856, Hailsham.
James Crowhurst married Jane ? about 1769 likely Arlington.
His father also James married Ann? in 1749 Arlington.
and waaaaay back ...
John Crowhurst married Mary ? about 1642.

I've had a look through the SMI and here are the results:

Abraham Wood's marriage is post-1837 so not available anyway.

John Crowhurst abt. 1642 came up a blank.

James Crowhurst 1749
I searched 5 years either way and found one entry:

Horsham, West Sussex
26 Oct 1753
James Crowhurst
Ann Langley
(no further info given)

James Crowhurst 1769
Again 5 years either way and two entries found

Battle, East Sussex
8 April 1768
James Crowhurst, Catsfield
Elizabeth Wood, otp, wcop (lic)

Arlington, East Sussex
James Crowhurst
Elizabeth Hards
botp, Banns

The first one can't be right as their children were born 1850 and 1851.
Can't seem to make the second ones work either.  Thanks for looking anyway, appreciate it.  maybe someone else can find something.  Did you have a date on the last one you found in Arlington, because that's the right village....

Sorry, I missed the date off the Arlington marriage. Probably something to do with the wrong end of the day.

The date was 4th November 1772
