Hi, Can anyone help with my search for my Dolan ancestors? They left Mayo during the Famine and arrived in Liverpool circa 1849/50. My Great Great Grandfather was James (b 1805) and married to Mary (b 1811) maiden name unknown. they had sons, Michael (b 1839) and John (b 1841). There was also Martin b in 1849 possibly in Dublin on the way to England. Jame's father was William and he had a brother Michael. I have all of these details from the 1851 census and from James' second marriage to Julia Loftus (nee Downing). I believe that they were related to the McDermotts (who lived in Ashton Under Lyme) as the sons were staying in each others family in 1861 census! I would be grateful for any help. I visited Mayo this summer and went to Westport where the Heritage centre found as list of Dolans- but they did not match my names and dates. Thanks
