I found 2 trees on Ancestry with Margaret Corbett and her children on them. Both people have replied to my message. I wonder if one of them could have a photo of him.

You are all helping so much and now I feel I know more about the man who is buried in a lonely corner at Cranbourne cemetery.

Thanks for your offer Judith - as you can see from what Sue pointed out and what Merlin has found it is more likely they came to Port Phillip.

Yes Sue I think he was.

He wrote some books according to Google.

He also ended up in Victoria  ;D

Jane Corbett 1837 – decended from havent found death marriage cert says born Birmingham. 


It looks like Jane was married TWICE?

I found her death for you  ;D ;D ;D

BRAN Jane age 74yrs d. ESSENDON 1910 #12554
Father: Corbett Richd
Mother: Mary CORBETT

And here's Reuben's death also ( I am assuming this was her second marriage in 1860) ;)

BRANN Reuben age 87yrs d. 1917 BALLARAT #3611
Father: Unknown
Mother: Unknown UNKNOWN

Thanks Merlin, yes that is Jane.

She married a man called Joseph Howarth Smith before she married Reuben Bran.  She had 1 child with Joseph also called Joseph Howarth Smith who I have no idea about and she had 6 children with Reuben.

This info I recieved word of mouth.
