Census returns were taken from 1821, but except for a few small fragment for a handful of townlands, only those for 1901 and 1911 have survived.

1901 census would be the first full census still in existance.

Thrift's Abstracts of 1821 census might be worth trying. LDS Film #0597155

Film 1279321 Miscellaneous Land Records, County Monaghan 1704-1873 Deeds, mortgages, leases and title abstracts.

Film 1279322     Miscellaneous Land Records deeds, leases, title abstracts, marriage settlements, etc From County Monaghan

Tedavnet/Tydavnet would be the logical church to start with but there are a few other churches in the locality they could have attended. Slack's Grove, a.k.a Holywood.

If you know the location of their property then you can chase it up in Land Registry. If they made wills then these can be checked in King's Inn, Dublin

A possible clue is a burial in Drumsnat Nov 1951 of a Martha Brown, husband of George Henry Brown of Holywood. Martha died in Lisburn!

and of a  burial of Margaret Brown [aged 82], 17 Brussells Street, Belfast on 7th June 1919 also in Drumsnat.

Living in Holywood, attending church in Drumsnat is perferctly plausible!

Now I Have Robert Brown. Died In Guernsey Ohio. USA ABT 1823.
But I don’t have anything at all about his wife.

And for there first daughter. Isabella Brown. I have her getting married in Guernsey Ohio USA. And I have her family right up till today. All in the USA...

Now I have Andrew brown. I think he married a Margaret
And they got married in Ireland.
And they had 3 kids.
KIDS
JAMES BROWN BORN 1840
NICHOLAS BROWN BORN 1842
ANN BROWN BORN 1849

Now I have Joseph brown. He married Margaret caskie. In Girvan Scotland.

I can’t seem to find out did all the family go to the USA. Or did some stay behind.
And I can’t seem to find any information about the ship that they might have sailed on. Or where from and to where in the USA they would have landed at.

I have looked at the land register and stuff like that but I could not get anywhere at all with them. Every name I put into the search it says that there was no one with that name at all.

Did the website say if these were submitted or transcribed? Parish, townland etc?

If submitted by someone then just be careful as they can be "slightly inaccurate"...You'll need to get ALL details from site and not just a list of names/dates.

Don't forget some, even in same family unit, MIGHT have used Brown, others Browne regardless of what is on IGI.

Can I ask why you are centered in on Slack's Grove?

Did someone submit them or were they transcribed by them?
