Redcliffe Parade Bristol
« on: Friday 10 September 10 11:25 BST (UK) »
I have an ancestor who lived at no.8 Redcliffe Parade, Bristol, in 1805.  Am I right in assuming that this would be in what is now Redcliffe Parade West ?
Confirmation of this would be most welcome.

That seems to be right.
If you go to http://brisray.com/bristol/bstmary1.htm
look under Bristol, England then St Mary Redcliffe page 1, there's a map.

Thanks for that but I'm still a bit puzzled.
Today there is 8 Redcliffe Parade West and 8 Redcliffe Parade East, so which would be the one referred to in 1805?

I don't know, I can only see the west marked on a street guide.  I'll have a look for any old maps.

I don't know if there's anything on www.gertlushonline, its worth a look.

I can't find an old map and can't even see it on Google maps now.
On Google books they mention it and there's a list of merchants who all seemed to be at number 2.
