RICHARD PARKES lookup 1851 and 1841
« on: Sunday 12 September 10 15:12 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a census record of Richard Parkes in 1851 and 1841.

Richard married Teresa Fellowes in 1851 at St John's, Wolverhampton.  She died in 1859 and then he married Hannah Bowyer later that same year.

In 1861 Richard, age 32, was a boiler maker living with his new wife Hannah and children Mary Ann and Winifred in Cinder Hill, Sedgley, Staffordshire.

All the later census records I have suggest that he was born in Sedgley in 1829 but he was age 80 when he died in 1907, putting him being born in 1827, so any time around these dates would be acceptable.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Many thanks

Richard married Teresa Fellowes in 1851 at St John's, Wolverhampton.

Was the marriage before or after the census  ???

Hi both  :)

The marriage was in the December quarter, Patrish.

The marriage is on the Wolverhampton history site and it says Richard was a labourer. Father William also a labourer.

Maybe?

Hi Tati

Thanks but it's not the not right one, I've seen that one before.

I will keep looking anyway.

Thanks

What made you rule him out?

Tati - I've seen that Richard Parkes and his family before on other censuses so I know this one is not mine.  There were 2 Richard Parkes living in the same area in other censuses.

Patrish - his father was William, a labourer.  But in 1851 he would have been age 23 so I wouldn't expect him to be still living with his father.
