Marriage Query
« on: Tuesday 14 September 10 08:36 BST (UK) »
On familysearch I have found a marriage I would like to check out that took place in 1952 in Dublin South district. (July/Sept).

Is there anyway of cross-referencing this to find surname of spouse other than sending for cert? This person is 'extended' family and although I would like to flesh out the details on the tree, it's getting expensive sending for all the certs so I am trying to cut down to only the essential ones.

Kind regards

KA

If you've no other clues as to the grooms name then it's not really feasible to search the index for a possible cross match - and you would have to order the cert to find the details. Do you know even a possible first name of the husband ?

Note details of living people may not be posted on rootschat - so might be an idea to remove the name detail from your post.

Earlier marriages (pre-1881) are found in Irish marriages in LDS Pilot site but for a 1950s marriage the only way to match bride and groom is to search for each separately then cross-reference results. This can be done by using just first or last names if they are fairly uncommon but otherwise very difficult.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
