ps. there are christenings on the IGI for a Matilda and Lucy Chalkley (+ a couple of others I think, including a son, John), parents William and Catherine Chalkley
(and a possible marriage - William Chalkley and Catherine Wrenn, can't remember what year though)
Catherine and son John are on the 1841 census here -
Catherine Chalkley 50 Bonnet Sewer? N
John 10 Y
Village of Whitewell? St Pauls Walden, Herts
HO107/438/15 Folio 6 Page 8
in 1851, Catherine has remarried -
Catherine Glass 62 widow Formerly Masons wife Pauls Walden
John Chalkley son 20 Ag Lab Pauls Walden
+ lodger George Kilby 23 Police Officer
Whitewell, St Pauls Walden, Herts
(next door is a James Wren, age 64, a Brewer, daughter Sarah and nephew George Chalkley 25)
The marriage is on the IGI - Catherine Chalkley and Thomas William Glass 31st May 1841 Old Church, St Pancras, London - her name is listed as "Chalkley or Hutchins" - in 1871 she is with son William Wren born Whitewell c1824, and on the IGI theres a birth for a William Wrenn with parents Christopher Wrenn and Catharine, so possibly Hutchins is her maiden name
(if you google "Glass and Wren Whitwell", the first link should be about a message from a Linda Cox regarding a document she has where Catherine Wren Glass is transferring some property to her daughter Amy Wren)
