Baker family of East Kent
« on: Wednesday 22 September 10 16:23 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone -

Have just joined the list and as you will see I am one of the many Bakers of Kent!

I was especially interested in the message dating back to 2007 from cam18 regarding Worth in Kent - are you still around?   The brother of my 3 x gt grandfather - called John Baker - inherited a farm (which I think might have been Church Farm) in Worth from their uncle William Baker c 1804.  The farm was actually owned by Sir something or other (can't decipher it).  The family was originally from East Langdon.   I think a couple or so generations of that particular Baker family remained in Worth but my ancestor settled in Sandwich.

Happy hunting

Cam18 is still about, she was last online in July. When you have made three posts you can send PMs (personal messages) so you can contact her directly if you want to.

I'm another Maid of Kent, from Deal :)

Hi Betty -

Many thanks for this information.   I have found my way into some archives and extracted information she gave another enquirer relating to the Bakers in Worth some time ago.

Kind regards
