William SEAGER
« on: Monday 27 September 10 12:37 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help please?

I am trying to find the surname of William Seager's wife, Mary.  They were married in Yeovil in April/May/June 1868 and I found the name Mary on the 1871 census.  I tried FreeBMD to no avail.

Thank you

Lesley

Hi Lesley,

Something wrong on FreeBMD for that marriage - there's 1 groom too many for the page number 768 he's listed on.

I wonder if he should be on page 769, where one groom is missing
(Mary Jane Jesty, John King, Mary Ann Parker)

Having said that, when I look at the original image for William, I definitely think it's 768 or 758.

Can you post the 1871 reference, please, or Mary's age and birth place?

Hi

The 1881 census ref is RG11, Piece 2392, Folio 11, Page 15.  She is listed as Mary A Seager, aged 33 born Yeovil.

Thanks again
Lesley

If previous censuses showed a Mary Ann Parker born ca. 1848 then I'd have gone for her, but I can't see one.

Fingers crossed someone has access to a marriage index.

Hi Lesley and Tati,

Looking at image I am convinced it is 5c 758. This could give us a match with Mary Ann D EDMUNDS. Walter MURLBY listed as 758 is definitely 76? actually third number looks like a 3 to me, so it seems there are some mismatches here.

Now we still had a bit of a problem in that there does not seem to be a Mary Ann EDMUNDS to match in 1851 and 1861.  ::)
Resolve as I discovered there is however a Mary Ann DARK born 1848 daughter of John and Mary. No Birth but we do have a Mary Ann EDMONDS birth listed as born Mar 1848 10 page 558 and then Mary EDMUNDS = John DARK Sep 1/4 1850 Yeovil 10 785  ;)

Cheers Kris  :)
