Thanks for your help and your quick replies   my Chadwicks are  : Stacksteads / Newchurch/Rossendale so its looking like  i am going in the right direction  on one of the censuses i have looked at it shows Jeremiah  as being born in Newchurch and Mary Ellen as being born in Heywood  and so far i havent seen Clitheroe mentioned ,although i know the areas all came under different boundaries  so its maybe something to do with that . Does anybody know if the 1911 census is available on line and on what sites ? Jeremiah and Mary Ellen would have been my maternal  great great grandparents
