Hi 
Im trying to trace my family tree and am struggling to find details in census reports
Ive managed to find family on the 1901 census but am struggling for the others im trying to find Jeremiah Chadwick born in 1838 in Newchurch in Rossendale lancashire wife called Mary Ellen born in 1845  i know theres definatly a daughter Beatrice Alice born in 1889 bt cant find any earlier census reports with details of the family and any further siblings  any suggestions or help greatfully received  ... Thanks

I don't know where you are looking for your Chadwick's in the census - but 2 very good websites to use (both free!) are www.freebmd.org.uk and www.familysearch.org.  The familysearch site has the 1881 census where I found a possibility for your family at Tunstead Mill, Newchurch
RG11 - Piece 4128 - Folio 90 - Page 44
Jeremiah Chadwick, age 43, carter, born Cliviger (?) Yorkshire
Mary E Chadwick, age 35, b. Clitheroe, Yorkshire
Ann C Chadwick, age 9, b. Newchurch
Margaret E Chadwick, age 7, b. Newchurch
Smith Chadwick (son), age 5, b. Newchurch

It looks like Jeremiah is on his travels in the 1891 census. Mary Ellen is alone with children, but married

This looks like him 1891

a boarder age 50 with the Sharples family at Ashes Cottage, Cob Stones, Salesbury, Blackburn.
Says born Worsthorne, Lancashire

kazzie..if you're using Ancestry to try and find Mary E & children in 1891, their surname has been transcribed as Lovick!  Dazey

It states they were married at Hyndburn Register Office or Registrar Attended
