Hi Coolmax,

they could be buried at the Dunbar Old Parish Church as the timeframe is right you could call Mortonhall Crematorium I believe they have burial records but I don't know if they would cover Dunbar, the best thing would be to call the Minister here is a link to the site. http://www.dunbarparishchurch.org/dpc/Welcome.html

Do you live in Scotland ?.

Cheers.

Archie.

Hi Coolmax

Haddington Library hold the Burial and Mortcloth records for Dunbar 1879 - 1914.   As Ralph died 1885 his info. may be there, possibility Jane and Ralph were buried in the same grave site

history[replace with 'at'symbol]eastlothian.gov.uk

Hi Oyama,

now that is interesting I thought they had done away with Mortcloths by 1879, I can't remember the date but there was a fund people could pay in to for a Coffin burial and it was before 1879, there again perhaps it was cheaper using the cloth rather than a Coffin, but even Mortcloths were expensive to hire.

Cheers.

Archie.

Hi Coolmax

Great result. - thank you for letting me know.    I had much the same help from the great staff when they were in the old library at Newton Port.

The John Gray centre just opened this month, sounds like a neat facility.

Ciao
