Patrick Joseph McFARLANE,
« on: Friday 28 May 10 13:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Am looking for Patrick McFarlane who died at sea in 1879 and his wife Evelyn Fitz Clarence who also died at sea, have not been able to find out anything about them thought I might have found them on a ships list or something! My great uncle was born on the trip and was a twin they were coming to Australia I believe there were other children. Ernest William Henry McFarlane was my great uncle he was raised by a family in Queensland Australia. We are not sure where Patrick and family left from but have been told Evelyn was related to the Duke of Clarence?

Hi,

Perhaps you could post on the Australia board, or check the Aus resources board, it is possible they might be able to point you to the best place to look for ship information.

Hi Olddog,
This is Janise from the other side of the McFarlane/Solway family. Do I know you, not sure. Have also been researching this subject on and off with David in mind, but no luck so far. Contact me? via this site or Genes R.

Hi

When it is in use the title of the Duke of Clarence is usually given to a junior son of the royal family.

Do you want me to move this post to the Australian board?

Looking for information on Patrick McFarlane and wife Evelyn nee FitzClarence. who both died at sea 1857 on way to Australia from U.K Son Ernest William Henry McFarlane born at sea 27 May 1879, may have been 1 of twins. Don't know where they came from or what ship they were on, Have checked census in U.K but nothing found.

Your statement doesn't make any sense  ::)

You have the parents deceased in 1857 & then you say their son was born 1879  ???

Can you clarify which is right/wrong?

I have merged this thread with an earlier thread from the beginners board as it provides a little more information.

Cheers Kris  :)
