Thanks for that link Mckha489,  I could not find it and thought membership of a database was necessary.

Does anyone know when the probate calender is due to be updated to include deaths of 1985 ?

Have you not heard of the Find a Will website?

Years covered are 1858 to present day.  Not everyone will appear as some people did not make a will or for whatever reason do not appear on the list.

In answer to your question, I thought that I had seen something about finding probate in the past but that a sub was necessary.

You are probably thinking of Ancestry who have the Probate Calendar.

You should always try looking at the years following the death - she is on there I will leave you to look.

The probate calendar on the government website goes to the present day, it is regularly updated
