ROSS - CARROL

in the beginning of Dec, 1848, Joseph Ross married Catherine Carrol in the Church of Ireland, Glendermott.  Joseph's father was Joseph Ross and Catherine's James Carrol.  They went on to have a family: Alexander (1849), Mary Jane (1851), Susanna (1852), Sarah (1860), William John (1861) and Hanna (1866).  Susanna & Sarah were later to emigrate to Scotland where both died in 1891 and 1925 respectively.  Does anyone know what happened to the rest of the family - and since there appears to be a gap between Susanna & Sarah - were there other children?  Any help would be appreciated!

Alice Ross 15 April 1869 dau of Joseph Ross & Catherine CARLIN, county L'Derry

An Advanced searc of the Derry Genealogy database reveals that Joseph & Catherine Ross had baptised 6 children in Glendermott Church of Ireland in the period 1849-1866 [the only difference in date was Sarah who appears to have been baptised in 1859].

Thanks, Yes, those look like good clues.  Catherine was illiterate and her last name was spelt in many different ways, varying from Carlin to Kelly, however I hadn't seen Carland before.  Many thanks for your help - it beats trying to do family history "by remote control"!
