Hi,

Like most on here I'm researching my family tree. My gg grandfather states on 1911 census that he was born in graigue co Carlow. This has led to dead ends until someone told me graigue is/was a place on the border so could also be considered to be in Laois. Is this correct??

Graigue, whilst being in County Laois is a suburb to Carlow town.  ;)

That's pretty confusing alright. So if someone were born in graigue in 1856 do you know what parish I would look toward for answers on my gg grandfathers parents?
