Thomas HITCHCOCK - South Australia

Thomas came with his parents Samuel and Mary Anne in 1849 along with his brothers and sister to South Australia on the Emily. I have knowledge of the whereabouts of his siblings but have nothing on Thomas. I believe he was born in 1820 in Derbyshire.
Does anyone know anything about him?

Hello Prue,
 I was wanting to know anything about him afer his arrival in Sth Australia. I found him with his family on the 1841 English census which gave his age as 22yrs, but when he arrived at Pt Adelaide in 1849 his age was given as 22. His parents names were Samuel and Mary Hitchcock (nee Pinkney) and he arrived with them and his other brothers Isaiah, William, Samuel who is my great great grandfather, and Alfred as well as sister Mary Jane. Another brother Frederick and sister Elizabeth remained in England. Annie Hitchcock married to Henry Smith came in 1850. They all came from the Longford, Derby area. I have no leads to him after his arrival, but I do know of all the other siblings and their outcomes.

Prue Thomas age on the 1841 census showed him as 20 yrs not 22 as I stated.

I am in Victoria and have  just started researching my HITCHCOCK ancestors around Mt Gambier/Port Macdonnell.

My ggrandmother was Mary Anne McDougall nee Hitchcock and I believe her father was Samuel Hitchcock (both buried at Port Macdonnell).

However, I am not sure if this is the brother or father of your Thomas.

I also located the same census information about Samuel and Mary Anne & family as well as their migration details on the "Emily" to Port Adelside1849 but have not got much further in unravelling the relationships.
