Born in Dover

My GG Grandparents either didn't believe in baptising their children or I just haven't found them.

I found them in 1841 census  Dover

William Russell 50 Ironmonger
Jane Russell  40
William   20  Shoemaker
Edward   15       "
George   10
Alfred      8

1851 census  Gravesend

William Russell  65 Ironmonger
Jane                 54
George             20 Ironmonger

Edward was married in 1851 and living in Ashford
Alfred was lodging in Kidderminster (with family I think)
William(son) disappeared.

I would love to find some birth or baptism records for the sons.
Also apart from Edward and Alfred I have no knowledge of the rest after 1851.
Hope someone can help

just had a quick look on familysearch pilot and there is a William russell born7/9/1791. Baptised  at St Mary general Baptists Dover parents James and Mary Russell

Hi Panda

I have looked on the usual sites. Ancestry and family search with no luck.
Only the children were born in Kent.
William(the father) was born in Rowley Regis Staffs.
Jane was born in Cleobury Mortimer Shropshire.
I have got Janes baptism record.
I know Edward George and Alfred were born in Dover from census records but William I only know he was born in Kent as I've only found him on 1841 census which only tells you if they were born in the county.
Alfred married in 1855 and stated on the marriage cert that father William was deceased, which meant that he died between 1851 and 1855. So far although I have sent for several death certs, none have been the right ones. I wonder if they moved away. It's strange that I haven't found Jane and George after 1851 either.
The trouble is Russell is a common name.

I may have found 1 for you that does not appear on Census with them;

ELIZABETH JANE Russell, Christened/Baptised 30 September 1821,
Zion Chapel Last Lane- Countess of Huntingdon, Dover, Kent, England
To WILLIAM Russell and JANE
Birth 23 August 1821
She could have Married by 1841

There is a WILLIAM Russell Chr. 26 February 1826, All Saints, Maidstone, Kent, to a William and Jane.
Age is not right from 1841 Census but ages were rounded then.

Thanks for your help.
I have seen the Elizabeth Jane baptism and got quite excited by it especially as Janes mother was Elizabeth. But I know there was another William and Jane Russell in Dover at the time who was a carpenter. I just don't know who she belongs to. I tried to find a marriage for her but no luck.
Mind you that was a long time ago. I'l have to try again.
The William in Maidstone i think I have come across but again I have found a Russell family there with similar names. I wonder if they are all related as they use the same names.
