you were correct with your initial assumption... Ashford is the correct RC parish for the townland of Killiskey, which is in the civil parish of the same name. Unfortunately the parish records only go back to 1864 or so for baptisms and marriages on microfilms Pos. 6477 and Pos. 6478..

see : Ashford RC Parish    (Irish Times)

I've checked the NLI film index and it shows the same dates

It worth a try, since there's nothing else... records may not have been kept at that time for the parish, or may have been damaged or lost.  Even though the 1830s is usually considered a reasonable start date for RC parish records there are some areas where the details start much later.

I just checked Ryan's Irish records and that says that some Killiskey records should be in Wicklow/Kilpipe. These go back much further to   the 1740s.

microfilm for Wicklow is P.6482

p.s. I assume I'm now looking at the correct location ?

The Killiskey I checked is just north of Ashford on the road to Roundwood, so not anywhere near to the town of Rathdrum (about 20km) as mentioned in the subject.
