McPhillips
« on: Friday 08 October 10 18:10 BST (UK) »
Hi, i am looking for a McPhillips family frome Clones Monaghan.
The information i have is Hugh McPhillips born about 1880 he was the son of Hugh and Catherine. i think Hugh had two brothers John and James and two sisters Rose and Annie.
I know Hugh moved on to England but i cant find the rest of his family that stopped in Monaghan.
Thanks
Sharon

Have you looked for Hugh in 1901 census in England? and have you found him in England in 1911? (we aren't allowed to do lookups for 1911 English census)

I.G.I. (www.familysearch.org) has a Hugh McPhilips, son of Hugh and Catherine (McCabe) born 1 Oct.1876 "Bamonan, Cavan."
There's also a Bernard (with same parents) born 25 Mar.1865 "Ballyjamesduff, Cavan" (page 361 in civil register) and a Bridget born 4 Sept.1874 "Ballyjamesduff." LDS Pilot site also lists a John born 20 June 1867 Co.Cavan.

There's another record for a William McPhilips born 14 June 1864 "Dawsongrove, Monaghan" with parents listed as Hugh and Catherine.

On LDS Pilot site an Anne McPhilips, daughter of Hugh and Catherine (Gormolley), was born 7 Jan.1870 Co.Cavan.

With all these possibilities (and there could be others not listed on these sites) it might be difficult to find the correct parents for your Hugh McPhilips.
