Allen family - 1901 Look up
« on: Saturday 03 January 09 09:17 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Could anyone look up an Ezekiel Allen for me in the Nortern Ireland 1901 census. He was aged 59 in the 1911 census which would mean that he was born in about 1851/1852. He was a bricklayer & at the time of the census was married to a lady called Jane. Some of his children were:Frederick (b.1885),Florence (b.1886) & Maggie (b.1892).

Regards

hi coreen,

i cant help with the census, it will be online eventually on national archives in dublin site, but can give you a "possible" marriage for ezekiel;

ezekiel allen married jane mahood 2-dec-1884 in saint anne's church of ireland, shankill parish, belfast. going by the births of the children, this fits. but there were a couple of ezekiel allens so cant be sure.

Hi - I've already put this posting on another board, then I found this one - sorry if i've confused anyone!
I'm trying to find Ezekiel Allen in the 1901 Northern Ireland census. I have traced him in 1911 living at house number 4 in Luke St (Wood Vale Ward),Antrim with wife Jane & three of his children - Frederick aged 25,Florence,aged 24 & Margaret, aged 18. In 1911 Ezekiel was aged 59 & wife Jane 51. Ezekiel was a bricklayer. Other children may have been Mary Jane (b.1875),George (b.1876),Julia Ann (b.1878),Robert Henry (b.1879),William Moore (b.1880). Other addresses I have for him are;Eton St,Antrim & Denmark St,Antrim.  I am also trying to trace John Allen, his father, but all I know about him is that he was a shoemaker.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Regards

Coreen

No-I'm in England near London so I don't think that's likely in the near future.I'll just have to wait until it's released on line. Thanks for reply all the same.

You can order the 1901 census microfilms from your nearest LDS library for a small fee and they will contact you when it arrives for you to view it there. See online catalogue at www.familysearch.org. However, it is not indexed so you have to know exactly the area the family lived in at the time of the census to be able to order the correct film.

Hi,
If you have enough details you can order from the national archives
you'll need to email them for exact postage costs .

I emailed them  sometime last year, and they got back to me within  just a couple of days  with a price of postage to Australia  which wasn't expensive and how to pay ( I never proceeded with order, decided to wait to search myself as sending them them the payment is  a bit difficult for me (in Australia )- they don't accept credit cards etc, must be euros cheques bankdraft etc etc )
http://nationalarchives.ie/PDF/CensusForm.pdf ( the order form)

http://nationalarchives.ie/services/public/obtaincopies.html

Hope that helps
Kind Regards:)
