Help needed *completed many thanks*
« on: Sunday 10 October 10 15:11 BST (UK) »
I have found my grandmothers family on the 1911 census. It was before she was born but it shows her siblings and parents. It also mentions on there that one sibling had died. Unfortunately this sibling was born and subsequently died between the 1901 and 1911 census. I would really like to find out who they were but as my grandmother and all her siblings are now deceased I cannot find out from them, I do not know if  this sibling was male or female or even their name. Is there any way I can find this information out. My grandmothers family lived in Wootton, Oxfordshire so that is why I have posted this here.

Many thanks

Hi ang1985,

I think it would be helpful if you were to say the name(s) of the people you are trying to trace or whatever info you may have.

Is the surname name BARGAS?

I have the Wootton PRs (ex OFHS)  and notice there are about 9 burials of people under the age of
twelve between the years 1901 & 1912.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.. The surname should be Barguss but I have seen quite a few misspellings of this, it could be Bargas, Bargess or Bargus. It doesn't make my research very easy!.

Many thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

Hi ang1985,

Firstly I must apologise, there are not "about 9 burials". I inadvertantly included baptisms as well.

However, I think this is the entry you want;
Buried, Wootton, Berks;
6-1-1902 Albert Janus John BARGUS, 16 months, The Pounds, Wootton.

This would appear to be his baptism;
11-11-1900 Albert James John s/o Gertrude Annie & John, Labr, The Pounds, Wootton

No marriage in Wootton for the parents. But here is Johns burial;
31-10-1935 Bargus John, 62, Old Pounds, Wootton

Many thanks for that, It is the correct entry as you have got my great grandparents names correct. Also thanks for putting my great grandfathers death in your message as I am coming to Wootton for the first time in a couple of days and I was hoping to be able to visit his grave,  I have a picture of his headstone but I did not know for definite that he was buried in Wootton. This has been an immense help to me.

Again, many thanks
