adoption
« on: Sunday 10 October 10 21:32 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone help me.  I've got three birth certificates from one family and it seems all three
children were put up for adoption.   The birth certificates have adoption typed on the far right of
the certificate and have a different registrar's name on, does this mean these children were
put up for adoption as babies or is the word adoption put on any time.

Any help would be appreciated.

The word adoption is put on if/when the child is adopted, whether that is right after birth or later as a toddler or even as a teen (although I doubt many teens were adopted years ago, most likely just sent out into service or aprenticeships).

Thankyou for that information.  There are 3 more children involved so may get
their certs to see what they say.
