« on: Friday 08 April 05 13:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone help me. Below is the 1861 census entry for my Allison Family.

Can anyone help me read the handwriting. I mainly need the street, the 3rd childs name and birth place and also the grandsons name.

Thankyou in Advance,
Holly

Hi Holly

Looks like the address begins with a Gru but then looks like a capital H in there as well ???

I'd say third daughter's name is Josephine (with the long s that looks like an f).

Grandson looks like William Bea??

Helen.

Whereabout does this census cover - maybe that will help.

I think the third child's name is Sophia, born ?.  The grandson's surname is Beak, possibly William.  Can you tell us where the census was taken - I think we looking at G..... Street but not sure.

Hi Holly

i agree with Helen that the grandsons name looks like a William (not sure last name though :( )

the daughters name however i would think is Sophia??

The birth place seems like it starts with an Mack, but that is only guess work really...

Hi All,

The census was taken in Bethnal Green.

I believe the 3rd child (5th name on the list) may be Sophia, as I found a Joseph on the same page and it looks nothing like it. What do you think??

Can I change my mind ;D

It's Sophie or Sophia  (I though the flick stroke of the y on the above line was part of the name   ::)!  - had  a close look now!

Ok Thanks All!

I think weve all agreed on Sophia, now how about the street or grandson?

I dont think it ends in Street.
