WHITE / SHEA
« on: Wednesday 20 October 10 11:19 BST (UK) »
Trying to find out some info of my G Gmother Ellen White b 1859 inb Co Kerry. Her father was James White and mother Mary Shea. I would guess thier DOBs to be ABT 1830-35 ish.
Ellen emigrated to NZ in 1883 to Christchurch and worked as a ladies companion for the Abbott family from Tipperarry. There was a Cherry / Fanny Abbott. They seemed to be well to do. Ellen married a James Pearson from Co Armagh in NZ and both returned to Armagh in 1900. A son was burried at Teneriffe on way home ans was called Francis Douglas Teneriffe Pearson after captian / purser cand plkace burried. Any info on this would also be of interest
Thank you

You can search the Kerry parish records online for free at www.irish genealogy.ie I had a quick search for any children of a James White and Mary Shea but did not find any. There are a number of White and Shea marriages but none that match your information.
