Looking for advice on finding Magee-White marriage record
« on: Thursday 21 October 10 18:53 BST (UK) »
Looking to find a marriage record [well any record actually!!] for a William Magee who married Mary White in Mountmellick. Since their son Joseph (b 1856) married in the Catholic Church and their daughter Bridget (b 1866) became a nun I am assuming they were Catholic.

Any advice for this neophyte would be most warmly welcomed!

Thank you for the PM! As a new member I cannot reply in the PM mode so I'll put it here.

I found two records : William Magee of CAMROSS(?) and William McGee of Mountmellick.

I'd like to think the name variation is just a transcription issue and hoped to narrow the option to one by finding the marriage record to confirm the age. I feel that since the son Joseph married an Anna Delaney of Barkmills, O'Moresforest, Queens County that the Mountmellick record is the one I'm looking for but would feel more comfortable with supporting documents. There are too many Mary White baptismal records to help so I was hoping that there might be a marriage record somewhere, somehow to seal the deal.
