Help please!

Hi,

I trying to find out about Abby Collins born abt 1861, she is on the 1871 census as a 10 year old, but can't find her on the 1881 census. She was living in llanelli at this time but not sure if she was born there. She is listed as born in ireland but can't find anything on her here. Have been told she may have died young but can't find anything on this either. Her parents were James Collins and Honora Barry, who where from cork. The address for the 1871 census is Oxen Street,Llanelly.

Really appreciate any help at all to break this brick wall!

Hello,
she is listed as born Llanelly in 1871.

There are no obvious births but what is strange is that there is an Abby Brian (o) with the same details in 1871 census.
She is entered with her widowed father James at 20 Oxon Street whilst the Collins family are at 24 Oxon Street.
There is also a 5 year gap between Abby Collins and the next Collins child - unless there were births and deaths?
Unfortunately, I can't find a birth for Abby O'Brian either 
I am having difficulty finding them in 1881 also.
1861 has th O'Brian parents born in Waterford so no family connection but mother Margaret dies in 4th quarter 1870so I suppose there could be a possibility that Abby O'Brian was staying with them and just got misnamed in the census.

Collins Abby      Dau   F   10   1861   llanelly
Collins Mary A      Dau   F   5   1866   llanelly
Collins Catherine   Dau   F   2   1869   llanelly

It list llanelly as birthplace for all children but Mary Ann was born in Cliftdon Bristol in 1865.
I think i am looking for the death of Abby between 1871 and 1881, if that makes any sense.

Hello,
yes I saw that but you had said she was listed as born in Ireland in your original message.
I am inclined to think that there is a mix up and perhaps Abby O'Brian is staying there. It is a big coincidence that they are living just a couple of doors away and there are two children listed as Abby both botn 1861 Llanelly (in the censuses).

However as yet, I cant find either of them later or in deaths.

Sorry my mistake on the census she was born in llanelly but i've searched Ireland also. I will look into what your saying, could be a possiblity that it.

If the family were moving around - you say Mary A was born in Bristol, there is an Abby Collins born 1863 in Liskeard, Cornwall but I can't find her either

Found Abby from Cornwall - transcribed as Ebby in 1871 - so not her!
