Good afternoon both of you...let me first say how thrilled i am to have a 'Good on ya' from a Marquessate. One day before i become an ancestor hopefully.... i  too will reach those dizzying heights! And secondly i just got to bed last night and as soon as my head hit the pillow the thought came into my head....you guys know how this works....how had i been assuming that mary had remarried the Issac chap and had a daughter aged 3 at 55 years old. HOW STUPID IS THAT, but i was so tired that i couldnt be bothered to get back out of bed and correct myself. So apolegies Jim for nearly sending you off on the wrong track! Good job you know what you are doing!!!!.  I'll have a scout round and see if i can pick up Charlotte unless you already have death details for her now.  best wishes cheryle.f

AND THIS MAYBE SOMETHING OR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

iN 1871 THERE WAS A jOSEPH DOWNTON LIVING IN kIDDERMINSTER WORCS WITH  HIS WIFE EMMA AND BROTHER HENRY AND ALSO LIVING IN THE HOUSE WERE jOSEPHS CHILDREN. i hAD JUST FOUND A SAMUEL DOWNTON IN LAMBETH JAIL lONDON HIS AGE IS A COUPLE OF YEARS OUT BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN ANYTHING IN THIS GAME, BUT IT THEN SAID FROM ALDBURY WORCS SO I THOUGHT I WAS AT A DEAD END. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE PLACE OF BIRTH FOR jOESEPH HE CAME FROM WILTON.......SPOOOOOKY!!!!!!

i dont think this is the same samuel downton as he was born in wilton wiltshire in 1833. i think the reason joseph and henry are on 1871 census in kiddiminster they were both carpet weavers and i think their is another carpet factory nearby perhaps where they were working or they had family as their seems to be a lot of downtons from this area but will continue looking     jim
