Susannah Evans Hall born Hemington 1818, bapt Hemington 22/2/1818.  Married James Say at Marston Bigot 1838 as you have.  She died Shepton Mallet reg dist 1888 and buried Shepton Mallet 24/12/1888.  They had about 10 children, born Hemington, Standerwick and Shepton Mallet.  James remarried after Susannah's death to Mary Ann Tucker.  He died 1907 Shepton Mallet. James' parents appear to be James Say and Eleanor Viner, although I haven't traced the Say side.

Susannah Evans Hall was the baby sister of my ancestor, Elizabeth Hall (born 1806, Paulton).  They were both daughters of William Hall (17?-1843) and Sarah Tidcombe (1774-1859), who were married at Farmborough 1795.  It is possible that Susannah and Elizabeth never met - by 1813 Elizabeth was living with a family in Bristol.

Nearly all I have on the Halls and Says is on my pedigree on Rootsweb.  Let me know if you have any further questions.

 Ten children!

I have
James
Alfred
Susannah
William Hall 1855
Henry Edward 1860
Harry abt 1866

Did wife #2 (Mary Ann Tucker) have children?

I'd like to find you in Rootschat - are you in under H or S?

Great to find your interesting researches.
I have a large Say listing but little for you, unfortunately, on Hall

Many thanks

James Say (1816-1908) was my great great grandfather.  His parents were James Say (c1791-1873) and Eleanor Say (nee Viner) (c1790-1874). I have traced the ancestors of Susannah Evans Say back several generations if you are interested.

Hi,

James Say (1816-1908) was my great great great grandfather. I have also been working on tracing earlier generations so would love to know if the previous poster John Turner is still around (Rootschat chat, which I presume is the messaging function) is currently disabled. I am having difficulty in confirming the parents of James Say (1792-1873) and also the death dates of few siblings of his (Kerenhappuch and Augustus / Augustine). So would love to know if you had any leads in that direction.

In a very belated comment to the OP, I have recently established through requesting the birth certificate of Harry Say (1867-1937), that his mother was Anna Maria (1846-1905) and there was no stated father. So he is James and Susannah's grandson. This was not evident on the census, where he was listed as their son.
