Perhaps there is something in Yarmouth NS which may help.

We visited Halifax NS for a day as part of our holiday this year and there seemed to be various museums - military; sea and native Indian around.

I am her Mother-in-law & I am based in the UK.  I have copies Census records & BMD references, which I have forwarded to Daniela in the last week & I am waiting on some more info from a couple of previous Dasher contacts.  I am so glad that Daniela put a message on this site.  The extra info is going to be a great help.

I saw an old post on rootsweb (or similar) may have been from you but there was no reply. I do hope that the NA papers reveal something. It does say that one of them has 11 pages - you would think that there must be something useful  
I have been having the odd look at Nova Scotia and its history- quite interesting!

Lots of Nova Scotia information online from Vital Records, census, gravestone inscriptions, etc. and I've had a look through my usual sites but can't find anyone with the surname Dasher.

There is a Liverpool (in Queens County which adjoins Yarmouth County)- but perhaps nothing to do with 1891 census birthplace 'Liverpool'- once a centre for shipbuilding and maritime trade as was most of the south shore of N.S.

You mentioned "Other names of possible Canadian relatives: Royal J Dasher, Canada, Royal H Dasher Canada, Benjamin Dasher ... cousin and nephew perhaps?" Is there supposed to be a connection or are you trying at make one based on their race (black)?
According to records on LDS Pilot site Royal H. Dasher was born in Georgia, son of Henry Dasher and Harriet Fitzsimmons.
