1921 death was at Tuhua, in King Country ?

Perhaps Wint can confirm this is the same death date he has for Daniel.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the info. Daniel Sandbrook was my great grandmother's brother. He did die in 1921 so I presume he's not buried with his wife and daughter. He left England in 1911 and I understand from records that he was very comfortably off having made his money in the drapery buisness.
Two children didn't come with them. Gilbert Llewellyn died in 1970 and was listed as a bus conductor and Nora was a shorthand typist.
I do have all their history whilst living in the UK

Hi Wint
Yes Daniel died away from Auckland as John B replied
so may have been buried in King country area

As he died ??without a will, assume because of intestate letters
there is a notice in NZ Gazettes

Name SANDBROOK Daniel
Reference NZ Gazette 1922
Additional Info ESTATE

Hi Wint,

My apologies ,
and not sure why I made that assumption -
must have been the picture   ::)  ::)

Tuhua, listed as 'Place' for his death, is a very small area in the King Country (Central North Island) and in 1921 I imagine it would likely have been not much more than a sawmill, or small farming settlement. Not the sort of place one would expect to find a well-off draper, even if retired. Nearest cemetery of any size would probably be Taumarunui, but unfortunately, they are not online.

Tuhua is probably still the same John,
There is a cemetery at Cemetery Rd, Matiere, which would have been the nearest, both this cemetery and Taumarunui cemetery are under the Ruapehu District Council, maybe an email to the council would help
