Hi
Does anyone have any infomation on Marshalls Chimney Sweeps of Richmond Buildings Brighton or could do some lookups for me. William Marshall was my wifes Grandfather and apparantly there have been 4 generations of chimney sweeps in this family. Trying to go back as far as we can with all of the Marshall family. Sorry no dates to speak of, the only clue is he died between 1965 - 1970.
Sorry to be so vague, but we need a start point for further research.

Regards

Looking at the death indexes on Ancestry, there are 2 William MArshalls who die in Brighton between 1963 and 1973 - William G Marshall who dies in 1965 aged 74, and Richard William MArshall who dies in 1970 and gives a birthdate of Jan 1886 (perhaps the Richard W that Linda found)

It’s very likely he would’ve known the famous Harry Cowely who was a chimney sweep in Brighton at a similar time-
