G'day Chatters,

I am hoping someone who has access to the above census will do a lookup for me please for an EDE family.
John EDE (father)
Hannah (wife)
Children should include;
Joseph born c.1829

Catherine born c. 1832
John born c.1839
There may well be other children all born @ Cuckfield.

Many thanks

Many thanks tedscout for your prompt reply.

Could you tell me please if there were an address , I am assuming it would be Cuckfield.

May I also ask please for a followup with the 1851 census if you have the time.

Many thanks omega 1,

I am slowly tracking the where and when of this family thanks to the help of others.

Would it be possible please to continue through the census or would it be asking too much

Regards

In 1881 Hannah is living with daughter Susan and gives her place of birth as Heathfield.   In at least one previous census it is Heathfield too.  The others all say Cuckfield.  In 1861 they have John, William, Hannah and Edward with them.  RG9 582 92 32.
In 1871 they do not have any children with them RG10 1061 6 5 .  Living in the Old Union Armoury Cottages in what was then Union Lane but is now Ockenden Lane.
Do you know her maiden name?  Is it the marriage 20 Sep 1828 John Ede to Hannah Pattenden.  Sponsors Charles Brigdon and Catherine Ede?
There is a burial for John Ede thatcher age 71 in Dec 1875.  Not sure if that is yours as there are several John Edes.

Thank you Andrea for all the census information you have sent. Appreciated.

Hannah's maiden name was PATTENDEN and the marriage in 1828 is the connection.

Many thanks

G'day Guys & Gals,

From the 1841 census I note that one of the kids are missing in the 1851 census.

Could someone please check for me for a Ellen EDE born 1836 @ Cuckfield who may be at Steyning and if so where.

Thanks
