Bankfoot - just passing through?
« on: Thursday 04 November 10 14:19 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Im sorry if this is a bit vague but I have found a baptism record in IGI which is not a submitted record but gives a Batch No 1008189- this record is for Alice DUMBELL bapt 7 April 1850 in Bankfoot Yorkshire and lists the parents as James and Catherine, it is the only entry for a Dumbell in the list.

I think this belongs to a family I am researching who lived in Great Sankey and St Helens Lancashire, other children all born in the aforementioned places except for one other who was born in Liverpool/Walton (although not yet proven)

I found Alice in the GRO index as being registered in Bradford March Quarter 1850

I could send for the Birth Cert I suppose but to save money before I have to, can anyone see this family in a census or the parish record for her baptism (cant find a Yorkshire OPC but you may know an alternative)

I have loked on Findmypast for a census record in 1851 to no avail.

Heres hoping  :)

Thanks Philip.

I think it helps in that it excludes my James and Catherine who are in St Helens, James until  1862 and Catherine and her family until the 1890s.
Thereofore I can discard Alice as belonging to me and probably the other stray George born 1845 in Walton also. (he probably belongs to these Dumbells also, there is a George on your census for 61)
 :) Thats Great!
