Hello, apologies this is long winded
1851 - 1871 Census Merthyr Tydfil : Ann LONG born c1833 in Merthyr Tydfil is living with or next door to her sister Eliza JONES nee LONG born 1837 Merthyr Tydfil. Parents Henry and Margaret LONG both d1848.
(1841 Census never found, old post details at end).
1881 Census : Eliza JONES 46 is at 8 High Germany - she is sharing a house with an Ann ‘ HILLY’ (HEALEY) but checked and pretty sure it is not her sister Ann LONG.
** Next door is a John LONG 22 = Hannah nee Collins?
No sign of sister Ann LONG..
Only thing I could find for Ann LONG :
Death 1881 March qt - Ann LONG aged 43 - age a bit out but as her age varies sent for Certificate anyway .. Arrived today :
Ann LONG 43 Widow Found in doorway in Lower Merthyr Tydfil, died of exposure to frost and cold outside, Lower Merthyr Tydfil.
Informant the Coroner and an Inquest..
Undecided if it is my Ann or not ?? Not a Widow as far as I know and wrong part of Town?
1861 Census : there is a Ann LONG that could fit the one from death certificate.
Married to Patrick LONG 1833 Waterford Ireland and Son John LONG 1879 MT **
I can’t find any sign of the parents after 1871, however but their son John ** appears to be living
Next door to my Ann LONGs sister, Eliza JONES in 1881 Census .. Coincidence?
Not sure whether to take a risk and try and obtain the Coroner’s Report? Or am I missing something obvious?
Any thoughts would be welcome, thank you.
Previous post about Eliza and Ann in 1841.
