Places - Kingsland/Finsbury/Hoxton
« on: Tuesday 01 June 04 14:56 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find my paternal grandfather, John Edward Adams, and note there is one living on Mortimer Road in Hackney in 1891.  It says he was born in Kingsland.  I can find one on the FMD that says "Kingston" - is that the same area.  The other one (there are only two for that time frame) is Ormskirk

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated

I was told, by another kind soul, that

1) Kingsland is near London
2) Hackney is next to Kingsland
3) Kingsland is about 18 miles from Kingston.
4) Kingston is south west of London about 10 miles

Finsbury is where his wife, Mary Elizabeth Riddle, was born and Hoxton is where their son, John, was born

Other than that, the only thing I have to go on is the funeral home records that say he was born in London, England (but he died in Montreal, Quebec, Canada)

I'm lost
