I have been sent some information from 1851 N.Ireland Census records. I notice a number of recent postings re Owens and wonder if anyone is able to connect with this family.

Thomas Moody, head of house age 34 born Co Antrim
Jane Moody, wife age 28 born Kilconway
William Moody, son age 4 Finvoy
Anne Jane Moody, daughter age 2 b Tullaghans
Abraham Moody, father age 67 no place of birth given
My informant says there were some notes:
Jane, claimant m Owens widower
Thomas Campbell, servant
Moody, Patton, Hemphill, Haslett, Hopkins, Simpson, Fleming,Walker. Co Londonderry
Simpson, Moody Co Armagh
Walker Co Tyrone, Co Donegal and Dublin

Those details are taken from pension claim application which means that she should be listed in 1901 census-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks aghadowey. I have had a look and found several possibilities but unfortunately no-one who stood out. I might just be lucky and find Jane's marriage or marriages. I would also like to check the original records to see what the 'notes' were that my informant mentioned.

I have just found a possible marriage.

Benjamin Owens married Mary Jane Moody in Dunloy Presbyterian Church, Finvoy on 2nd May 1873
Moody, Patton, Hemphill, Haslett, Hopkins, Simpson, Fleming,Walker. Co Londonderry
Simpson, Moody Co Armagh
Walker Co Tyrone, Co Donegal and Dublin

Thanks kingerswell you are correct - a typo!!! Just found the family in 1901 census living in Craigs (Dirraw, Antrim)

               I have done a little extra checking and confirmed that Ann Jane Moody's father was called Thomas.
