Hope someone can help.
I am looking for the descendants of Andrew OBrien,born abt.1861,believed to be born in Gowna,Co.Cavan & Bridget Kiernan,born abt.1864 in Co.Longford.
I have found them on the 1901 Census,in Aghakine,Co. Longford.
Andrew,age 40, born Co.Cavan,Agri.Labourer.
Bridget, age 37, born Co.Longford
James, age 15, born Co.Longford
Mary, age 14,born Co.Cavan
Patrick, age 8,born Co.Cavan
John, age 5, born Co.Cavan.
In 1911 Census they are in Aghnacliff,Co.Longford.
The parents,Andrew & Bridget with sons Patrick & John.
In an additional section on this census,it is stated that 4 children were born alive & 3 were still living.
So either Mary or James had died in the intervening 10 years.
For the son,John mentioned above I have his Baptismal Cert.for the Catholic Church of the Holy Family in Gowna,Co.Cavan on 25th May 1894.
Sponsers were Michael McGaughan & Mary OBrien.
Celebrant was Fr.H.Doyle P.P.
The above John emigrated to the States & his son,another John,aged 82 is still living in Florida,U.S.A.
Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
