I wonder if any one has got, or knows where there is a transcription of this document. It is the testament of Robert Maxwell of Dinwiddie (Dinwoody) dated 1639.
Robert Maxwell is my 9th Gt Grandfather and I down loaded his Testament from Scotlands People. I thought I was good at reading old wills etc having loads of them but this has really beaten me.
I can see he has a daughter Agnes, a daughter Nicolas (my 8th Gt Grandmother) and a daughter Sarah. I think his wife is Agnes Johnstone but apart from that I am stuck.
As his testament is dated 1639 does it mean he died in 1639 or just wrote it then - does any one know?
