Seeking George Gambling on the 1891 & 1901 census; can someone please help.  On the latest census George listed as boarder at 21 Charles St, Brithdir in the household of William George, aged 30, coal miner, born c.1881 in Bryndi, Glam.

George enlisted as 66910 Pte in the RFA in 1914 whilst still at 21 Charles St, single, aged 34 and with his father listed as Thomas Gambling, Somerset.

I located a possible on the 1881 census for Cardiff St John
Household:
Thomas Gambling, head, 30, PC, Preston Placnath, Somerset
Mary, wife, 26, Aberdare, Glam
William D., son, 4, Cheltenham, Glouc
Thomas J, son 3, Aberdare, Glam
George F., son, 1, Pyle, Glam

Hi Roy,
It looks as though you have the correct entry for 1881 if the father was born Somerset. George was with the same family in Aberdare, 1891. Father was Policeman. There was a George F Gambling born 1880 Bridgend. Younger children were Bertie, born 1882,Cadoxton, Barry, Edith W b 1884, Cadoxton Barry, Percy E 1886, Aberdare, Stanley 1890, Aberdare.

Hi
Many thanks for your help and the details regarding Thomas Gambling, being a policeman he could be anywhere but I wonder if I could ask for help locating him on the 1901.

Kind regards
Roy
