Hi Welcome to RootsChat, I am sure you will find plenty of people willing to help you here.

Can you tells us what Henry's occupation was on his marriage certificate, also what was the occupation given for Percival? The more detail we have the easier it will be to help.

Welcome:  there is a George Henry Bonser registered in Huddersfield District, 9a, page 319 in March quarter 1872, but I can't find any indication of Percival's death between 1870 and 1900.

Henrys occupation on wedding certificate 1900 said Miner Hewer. I know nothing about Percival sorry.
It says deceased that is all I know.
Thanks

In your first post you say you are looking for the birth certificate, then you say there is no father named on the birth certificate, so do you have Henry's certificate? If only his mother is named on the birth certificate, then Henry was illegitimate, and Percival on the marriage certificate was probably fictitious.

Am I right in thinking that Henry married Jane EDEN in 1900? I see that Jane died in 1906 and Henry then  married Ellen LOMAX in 1907, I am wondering if you have the second marriage certificate to see what it says about his  father on that.

There is no sign of any Percival in The BMD's or the census, so I think you need to concentrate on his Mother Ann.

Hi thanks for reply. I got the birth certificate for George Henry Bonser thinking it could be him but it is not. This is the certificate with mother Ann and no father so I am on the wrong track with this one.
I have the marriage certificate to my Great Grandmother as you said is Jane Eden.

I have all the information from 1900 when he got married in St. Helens upuntil his death.
On the marriage certificate it isays father Percival deceased.

I did not get a copy of the second certificate as I did not see the point and the cost goes up with each one.

As it says he was born in Woodhouse I have contactd Leeds Register office and paid for search but no luck. Also Shefffield and no luck. This has been going on for nearly 12 months there must be something for either of them somewhere unless we have come in under the radar and are illegal immigrants or Henry was lying
